3D-Printed Ergonomic Tool Handles
نویسندگان
چکیده
Although hand tools serve as an instrument for extending one’s capabilities through the use of hands, comfort it brings is important especially since welfare user at stake. Aside from using repetitively and with awkward posture, tool handle compositions design also contribute to accumulating some work-related musculoskeletal disorders that require further attention in long run. To provide a long-term solution, 3D-printed new designs six commonly used fit average measurements Filipinos have been developed. The are printed two filaments namely; thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) which was found be skin-friendly polylactic acid (PLA) proven more functional, both on outer inner layer handle, respectively. handles were evaluated questionnaire distributed 10 respondents per testing, results show comfortable convenient rather than commercial ones. Meanwhile, researchers note adequate length may vary according functions not rely alone measurements.

New ergonomic design criteria for handles of laparoscopic dissection forceps.
BACKGROUND The shape of laparoscopic instrument handles can cause physical discomfort. This problem may be ascribed to a lack of standards for instrument design. In this study, new ergonomic requirements for the design of laparoscopic dissection forceps were created. Three representative handles (a Karl Storz [click-line] scissors handle, an Access Plus scissors handle, and an Aesculap cylindri...

PARC has been a leading innovator in printed electronics with over a decade of experience in large area electronics, application of novel and current printing technology to industrial applications and the printing of electronic circuits and devices. We are currently applying this knowledge to the concept of printing multi-material 3 dimensional objects with electronic and/or mechanical function...
متن کامل3D Printed Bionic Ears
The ability to three-dimensionally interweave biological tissue with functional electronics could enable the creation of bionic organs possessing enhanced functionalities over their human counterparts. Conventional electronic devices are inherently two-dimensional, preventing seamless multidimensional integration with synthetic biology, as the processes and materials are very different. Here, w...
متن کامل3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Valve
We present a novel 3D printed multimaterial microfluidic proportional valve. The microfluidic valve is a fundamental primitive that enables the development of programmable, automated devices for controlling fluids in a precise manner. We discuss valve characterization results, as well as exploratory design variations in channel width, membrane thickness, and membrane stiffness. Compared to prev...
متن کامل3D-Printed Self-Folding Electronics.
Self-transforming structures are gaining prominence due to their general ability to adopt programmed shapes each tailored for specific functions. Composites that self-fold have so far relied on using the stimuli-responsive mechanisms focusing on reversible shape change. Integrating additional functions within these composites can rapidly enhance their practical applicability; however, this rema...
